The company

As a development engineer with over 30 years’ experience in the automotive industry, I combine in-depth technical expertise with a long-standing passion for bicycle design and the use of fibre-reinforced composites. I devoted myself intensively to these subjects even whilst I was a student. My thesis from 1994 dealt with the development of a CFRP monocoque MTB frame. Although the project did not go into production due to the client’s insolvency, three prototypes were produced, which are still in reliable service today.

My early development work also included an aerodynamic carbon rim with a half-shell design, manufactured using the vacuum infusion process. It was tested by a professional and praised for its performance, but it too never made it to series production.

Alongside my work as a salaried development engineer, I launched the eibike project in 2012 and built the first rideable prototype in 2014. This was continuously refined over the years and fitted with an electric pedelec drive. However, due to my full-time commitments, further development remained limited to a side project.

Having left my role in the automotive industry, I decided to see the eibike through to full-scale production and bring it onto the road. I am currently working on a further optimised version featuring a new drive system and numerous technical refinements.

The launch of a small-scale manual production run is planned for early 2027, following the completion of testing.
